Mr. Sanjaya Mudalige

Mr. Sanjaya Mudalige is a development planning expert with extensive experience in infrastructure planning, policy formulation, and public investment strategy. As Director General (Planning and Monitoring) at the Ministry of Transport and Highways, he oversees road sector development and foreign-funded projects. Previously, as Director General of National Planning (2015–2020), he led capital budgeting and donor coordination. With over three decades in strategic planning across energy, transport, and public utilities, he has served on government boards like the Urban Development Authority. He holds a BSc from the University of Kelaniya, a Postgraduate Diploma from Dortmund, and a Master’s from the University of the Philippines. Fluent in Sinhala and English, he has contributed to national policy and development programs.
