'Information Technology & Its Role in the Modern Organization' - ICT Forum 2018

The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) forum organized by the National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka was held in Colombo on 6th June 2018 under the patronage of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. The Guest of Honour was Prof. Rohan Samarajiva , Chairman of the Information Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) who delivered the Key note address.
The main objectives of the forum were to create awareness among the ICT Sector regarding the assistance and incentives available from the state sector, and especially the elements of the allocation of Rs. 3 Billion under the National budget for 2018 to explore opportunities to grow exports from the sector to USD 5 Billion under the “Vision 2025” of the government and to highlight the benefits all export oriented enterprises could accrue through E-Commerce and Digital Marketing which are vital modern tools, CEOs and their IT officers should be knowledgeable.
The Forum was followed by a panel discussion consisting of the professionals; Prof. Rohan Samarajiva - Chairman of ICTA, Ms. Lakmini Wijesundera - Board Member of ICTA, Director/ CEO of IronOne Technologies, Mr. Mano Sekaram- CEO & Co- Founder of 99X technology, Mr. Ruvindhu Peiris- Chairman of SLASCOM, Ms. Jayomi Lokuliyana- CEO of zMessenger (Pvt) Ltd, Mr. Suresh Perera- Principal, Tax & Regulatory of KPMG, Mr Lahiru Pathmalal – CEO of Takas.lk, Mr Dinesh Saparamadu – Chairman of hSenid, moderated by Mr. Nisthar Cassim , Editor of the Daly FT.
