GovPay: Workshop for the pioneers prior to the launch

As we approach the launch of GovPay, the Government Digital Payment Platform (GDPP), at the end of January 2025, Information and Communication Technology Agency thrilled to announce the significant strides made in advancing digital payment accessibility in Sri Lanka.
Initially integrating 16 key government institutions, GovPay will expand to include 30 more institutions in two subsequent phases, achieving full implementation by April 2025. This phased rollout reflects a strong commitment to providing a seamless, citizen-friendly experience, empowering individuals and businesses to make payments for government services effortlessly through online banking platforms and popular FinTech applications.
In preparation for the national launch, ICTA, in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Economy and LankaPay (Private) Limited, hosted a GovPay Readiness Workshop for representatives of the 16 enrolled institutions. This session focused on familiarizing participants with the platform’s enhanced features and ensuring readiness for sustainable implementation.

GovPay is already integrated with nine leading commercial banks:

The platform will soon welcome leading FinTech applications such as iPay and HelaPay, further enhancing accessibility and convenience for users.
