The IT-BPO ( Information Tehcnology and Business Process Outsourcing) Career fair conducted jointly by the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA), the Education Ministry (MoE) and the IT- BPO Private Sector held in Kurunegala recently drew large crowds.

The third in a series of eight regional IT – Business Process Outsourcing Career fairs planned to be held outside Colombo conducted at the Bright Bravo Hotel, Kurunegala on 29th and 30th May, registered a head count of more than 5000 visitors.. The crowd consisted mostly of students from schools in the North Western Province as well as their teachers and parents.

ICTA pointed out that the interest shown by students, teachers and parents in the IT – BPO Career fairs was gathering momentum ever since they were taken to the out-stations in March, the first in Galle and the second in Matara and the latest in Kurunegala drawing increasing crowds in each of these three venues.

"The next such regional fair is scheduled to be held on 12th and 13th June at the Asgiriya Police Grounds in Kandy. Students from over 100 schools from three districts are expected to attend the fair in Kandy", a senior ICTA officer said.
